Did you know folding tables are available in various shapes and sizes? Much like conventional fixed-legged tables, each table shape is commonly used for different purposes, but combined, they can offer more versatility.
We’ve compiled a list of the most popular styles available:
Round & Oval Shaped Tables
The round table is the most popular table shape for banquets and social events like weddings, where guests are encouraged to mingle. The fact that everyone is seated in a circle encourages more conversation and avoids some unfortunate people being isolated at the end of a table. If there is room, businesses also frequently favour round meeting room tables.
Our Slimfold collapsible round table range is available in different diameters from 91 cm up to 183 cm to meet your needs. Typically, a table with a diameter of 183cm can seat up to 10 people.
Top tip: Remember that larger tables weigh more, so consider adding castor wheels to help move them around and table trolleys for storage.
Square & Rectangle-shaped tables
When using numerous tables together, rectangular and square tables with flat, straight edges offer more layout options. With flat sides, you can easily customise the room to meet your needs and add extra surfaces to the space. Rectangular and square folding tables are highly adaptable and used in various settings, including conferences, meetings, dining, offices, and more. Rectangle and square tables are generally available in a range of widths and lengths to offer great flexibility.
Top tip: To create different arrangements, combine square, rectangle, and quadrant corner table shapes.
Double-D shaped tables
The merger of a circular and rectangle shape provides both straight sides and rounded ends that can be highly beneficial in a number of environments where corners may be a concern. The curved shape of the Double-D table makes it ideal for schools, nurseries, care facilities, and hotels.
Top tip: The rounded ends improve safety concerns by protecting children and the elderly from injuries caused by walking into or falling onto the table corners.
Other tabletop shapes
Depending on the manufacturer, some ranges can have several alternative non-conventional shapes to offer greater adaptability. You can find shapes like a tabletop with a 72-degree segment, and when combined, you create the impression of waves. If you wish to form a right angle with a curved corner or a U-shaped table configuration, you can use a quadrant corner.
Top tip: Make sure you consider all your alternatives as there are more shape options than just round and rectangle when choosing a foldable table range.
